Meet Gabe
Gabe Crenshaw is a lifelong Cuyahoga County resident, education leader, and community advocate running to ensure every family in District 18 has a strong voice.
Born and raised in the Glenville neighborhood, Gabe transferred to Cleveland Heights High School in 10th grade and proudly graduated from Heights High. Cleveland Heights has been home for most of her life.
Gabe and her husband have been married for more than 20 years and are raising three children together. Her decision to run for office was inspired by a lack of representation and a deep belief that public schools work best when families are truly heard. Like many parents, her journey began as a PTA mom—showing up, speaking out, and working for change.
Experience that delivers
Gabe brings over 20 years of experience in education, spanning K-12 schools, higher education, and nonprofit educational program management.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration.
Throughout her career, Gabe has championed diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and led workforce development programs that prepare young people for real opportunities beyond graduation.
Deep Roots in Community Leadership
Gabe has served on the boards of:
Seeds of Literacy
Heights Libraries
Black Professional Charitable Foundation

Cleveland Heights Democratic Club
At Bethany Baptist Church, she has served as a trustee, a member of the finance committee, and Director of Vacation Bible School.
She currently serves as President of the Cleveland Heights–University Heights City School Board, where she continues to advocate for students, educators, and families.
